What's everyone's personality type for the Myers-Briggs test? I'm an INFP: Introverted Intuitive Feeling Perceiving. Here's a free test if you don't know.

I'm INTP.

Not surprising to me that everyone in the Sims community seems to be introverted!

"Not surprising to me that everyone in the Sims community on the Internet seems to be introverted!"

Fixed that for you. ;)

Interesting. This is something that would never had occurred to me: see the sims players as introverted persons, specially considering how much exposed a person can be in a forum and when posting sims stories.
I think you are right.

Exposed, but anonymous. It makes all the difference.

And through writing, too, instead of in person.

Yeah, you have more time to think through, and revise, what you want to say. And no one can see you.

I don't know.
What I've seen through the years is that a lot of people don't really feel anonymous, they consider their nicknames as identities.
And in some forums, people show themselves, they tell their real names and post pics of themselves. I have a lot od friends who are sims players in my facebook, all of us with our real names, pics of family, etc.

But the option to be anonymous is certainly there. I don't think I know the real name of anyone on my Friends list, not their surnames, anyway. Even if the number of people who share their personal info on the Internet through Facebook and such is growing, a majority of people participating in various online communities are still anonymous. Sure, a nickname becomes a sort of identity, but it can't be linked to your real life self unless you want it to be (or you're not careful/get dox'ed), making it a lot easier to be open about your feelings, interests and opinions than it would be in meatspace.

And not only that, but there are a lot of INFJ's while this is the most rare type (only 1-3% is INFJ). Interesting!

That is very interesting! And a lot of INTJs too, which are also rare.

[livejournal.com profile] cleolinda also did a poll that got an INFJ majority. Maybe it's a livejournal thing?

One of the best profession for the INFJ's is being a writer. That would explain a lot.
